ORGANIZATIONAL OVERVIEW 

The National Election Board of Ethiopia (NEBE), re-established by proclamation No. 1133/2011, is the constitutionally mandated body to conduct elections, organize referendum and regulate political parties in Ethiopia. NEBE is working to boost its’ institutional strength with a special focus on enhancement of human resource capacity. Accordingly, NEBE would like to invite applicants for Junior Audio Visual and Media Documentation Expert II position who meet the following requirements.

Job Summary

The Junior Audio Visual and Media Documentation Expert II: - is responsible for documenting, organizing, and maintaining digital media files to ensure consistency and order. This role supports the media production team by assisting with the recording, editing, and proper management of audio-visual content, ensuring assets are well-organized and accessible for future use.

Duties and responsibilities

1) Media File Management

  • Assist the media production team in recording and editing audio-visual products, ensuring high-quality content is produced.

  • Properly label, categorize, and store media files for easy retrieval and efficient use by the production team.

  • Manage digital files, including renaming, organizing folders, and maintaining file structures to ensure consistency and order.

  • Enter metadata, keywords, and relevant information for media files, improving search ability and accessibility.

  • Conduct quality checks on media files, verifying file formats, resolutions, and overall quality before they are archived or used in projects.

  • Collaborate with IT or technical teams to implement best practices for file management and storage solutions.

2) Collaboration & Communication

  • Collaborate with editors and designers to provide requested media assets for editing and production purposes.

  • Maintain clear and effective communication with team members regarding asset availability, project progress, and any challenges faced in media retrieval and organization.

  • Work closely with the media production team to understand project requirements and prioritize the retrieval of media assets accordingly.

3) Documentation & Reporting

  • Maintain documentation related to media assets, including inventory lists, usage logs, and project-specific media databases.

  • Report any discrepancies or issues related to media files to the media documentation expert for further action.

  • Ensure accurate and comprehensive metadata entry for all media assets to enhance organization and retrieval efficiency.

4) Additional Responsibilities

Any other duties as assigned by the NEBE Communications Manager.

Specification:

Education and Work Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or Masters in Media Production, Communications, Information Management, or a related field.

  • 2 years for Masters or 4 years for BA  

Required Skills

  • Proven experience in media documentation and digital asset management.

  • Familiarity with audio-visual editing tools and software.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Proficiency in file management and metadata entry.

  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively.

  • Knowledge of digital media storage solutions and best practices.
