Job Summary

Lift Technician is primarily responsible for all preventative maintenance and repair work on elevators and similar people-moving machinery. The role holder also installs various components of the elevator system, such as the railings on which the elevator car travels, its supporting motors and cables and electrical wirings and micro processors that power the equipment. S/he also responsible for calls about malfunctioning equipment, often trouble shooting the machinery until the problem can be diagnosed and solved. The technician checks wiring and parts for sign of wear, replace parts as needed, oil gears and test electrical systems to make sure the elevator until is running efficiently.

Academic and Professional Qualifications

A College Diploma in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering/ Electricity & Electronics or related fields

Experience

At least three (3) years’ qualification experience in a similar role

Functional/Technical Competencies

Ability to read blue prints and diagrams.
Knowledge of equipments, materials, methods, practice and tools used in lift/ people-moving machinery.
