The St. Paul Institute for Reproductive Health and Rights (SPIRHR) is a local non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia focused on advancing sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) through coordinated clinical services, training, research, and advocacy.

SPIRHR invites qualified and motivated candidates to apply for a nationwide study entitled SPIRHR in collaboration with the Ministry of Health (MOH) is implementing 

The study will be conducted across seven regions of Ethiopia: Oromia, Amhara, Benishangul-Gumuz, Sidama, South Ethiopia, South West Ethiopia, and Somali Regions.

Positions Available

  • 30 Quantitative Data Collectors

  • 10 Qualitative Data Collectors

Study Objective

The assessment aims to generate evidence on the availability, readiness, feasibility, and implementation of IUCD services at health post level to inform program improvement and policy decision-making.

Key Responsibilities

  • Quantitative Data Collectors
  • Administer structured questionnaires at selected health posts
  • Collect facility-level service readiness and implementation data
  • Ensure accurate, complete, and timely data collection
  • Adhere to ethical standards and study protocols
  • Work closely with supervisors and the central research team

Qualitative Data Collectors

  • Conduct Key Informant Interviews (KIIs), In-depth interviews and/or Focus Group Discussions (FGDs)
  • Facilitate discussions with Programmers, implementers, partners, health workers, supervisors, and community stakeholders
  • Accurately record, document, and summarize qualitative data
  • Perform interviews in the local language and translate in to English language for analysis and write-up
  • Maintain confidentiality and ethical research standards

Required Qualifications

  • General Requirements (Both Positions)
  • Bachelor’s degree or above in Public Health, Nursing, Midwifery, Health Officer, or related health fields
  • Prior experience in health-related data collection or research with prior SPA& SARA specific is an advantage
  • Good communication skills and ability to work in a team
  • Willingness to travel and work in assigned regions
  • Fluency in English and at least one relevant local language of the assigned region

Additional Requirements

Quantitative Data Collectors

  • Experience with facility-based surveys with prior SPA& SARA specific is an advantage
  • Familiarity with paper-based and electronic data collection tools (e.g., ODK, Kobo) is mandatory

Qualitative Data Collectors

  • Proven experience in conducting IDI, KIIs and FGDs
  • Strong facilitation, probing, and note-taking skills
  • Experience in qualitative health research is highly preferred

Duration of Assignment

  • Short-term assignment (approximately one month; exact duration to be specified at the time of contracting), including training, data collection, and debriefing.

Duty Station

  • Assigned within one of the seven regions listed above, based on language skills and operational needs.

Payment

  • Competitive, daily-based payment, commensurate with experience and responsibilities
  • Per diem and transportation covered according to project policy
