Job Summary:

The Senior Local Procurement Officer is responsible for managing, coordinating, and optimizing all local procurement activities to ensure the timely, cost-effective, and compliant acquisition of goods, services, and materials. The role focuses on supplier sourcing, price negotiations, contract administration, market analysis, and monitoring of procurement processes to support operational efficiency and organizational goals. The position also provides guidance to junior staff and ensures adherence to procurement policies and standards.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:  

  • Develop and implement local procurement plans aligned with organizational needs and budgets.
  • Manage the full procurement cycle, including requisition review, sourcing, tendering, evaluation, and awarding.
  • Ensure timely acquisition of high-quality goods and services at optimal value.
  •  Identify, evaluate, and manage suppliers while maintaining strong vendor relationships.
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and payment conditions to maximize value.
  • Prepare and manage procurement contracts in compliance with policies, regulations, and laws.
  • Maintain accurate procurement records, documentation, and audit trails; support audits and risk assessments.
  • Conduct market research to analyze pricing trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
  • Prepare procurement reports covering cost analysis, supplier performance, and procurement status.
  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders, provide procurement guidance, and communicate status updates.
  •  Train, guide, and mentor junior procurement staff.

Requirement:

  • BA in Logistics and Supply Chain Management/ Management/ Economics or any other related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, preferably in local sourcing. 
  • Strong knowledge of procurement procedures, vendor management, and contract negotiation.
  • Experience with ERP systems and procurement software is an advantage.

  • Ability to work under tight deadlines and handle multiple shipments concurrently.
  • High level of integrity and professionalism.
  • Problem-solving and conflict-resolution mindset.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong reporting and documentation skills.
