Job Description

MK Steel Manufacturing PLC is a fast-growing steel manufacturer in Addis Ababa. We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Accountant I to join our Finance team. You will be responsible for daily financial transactions, payroll, and ensuring tax compliance in accordance with Ethiopian regulations. 

Key Responsibilities 

• Record daily financial transactions accurately using Peachtree accounting software.
• Process company payroll, invoices, and manage VAT, Withholding, and Income Tax filings.
• Prepare and submit monthly tax schedules including pension, income tax, and VAT.
• Maintain and organize financial documents in compliance with company policy.
• Support monthly and annual financial reporting and audits.
• Perform other finance-related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements & Qualifications

• Education: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Experience: Minimum of 2 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Software: Proficiency in Peachtree (or similar) and MS Office (especially Excel).
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of Ethiopian accounting standards and tax regulations.
• Competencies: Strong attention to detail, ability to meet deadlines, and good communication skills.
• Female candidates are preferred.
