Job Requirements

  • Education: 10th/12th grade completion and Grade III driving license or equivalent

  • Experience: Three/3/ years directly relevant experience

Duties and Responsibilities

Patient Transportation
  • Safely transport patients, including pregnant women, mothers, newborns, and other clients, to and from health facilities.

    Advertisement
  • Respond promptly to emergency calls and patient referral requests.

  • Assist healthcare providers during patient loading and unloading.

  • Ensure safe and comfortable transportation of clients, particularly emergency and high-risk cases.

  • Follow established referral and transportation protocols.

Vehicle Operation and Safety
  • Operate the ambulance safely and responsibly in accordance with traffic laws and organizational policies.

  • Conduct daily vehicle inspections before and after duty.

  • Ensure that fuel, oil, water, tires, and other essential vehicle systems are maintained properly.

  • Report mechanical defects, accidents, or maintenance needs promptly.

  • Ensure the ambulance remains clean, functional, and ready for emergency deployment.

Equipment and Supply Management
  • Check and ensure the availability of basic emergency equipment and supplies in the ambulance.

  • Assist in maintaining emergency kits and medical equipment during transportation.

  • Support healthcare staff in securing medical equipment and supplies during transit.

Documentation and Reporting
  • Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and patient transport records.

  • Record mileage, fuel consumption, maintenance activities, and trip details.

  • Submit transportation and vehicle utilization reports as required.

  • Report accidents, incidents, and emergencies according to FGAE procedures.

Compliance and Professional Conduct
  • Adhere to FGAE policies, procedures, and code of conduct.

  • Maintain confidentiality of patient information and medical records.

  • Observe infection prevention and control measures while transporting patients.

  • Demonstrate professionalism and respect toward patients, caregivers, colleagues, and community members.
