Development Expertise Center (DEC) is a national CSO registered in Ethiopia. The organization has five major programs: Child Well-being and Education Development, Gender and Life Skill Development, Employable Skills Development, Advocacy, and Humanitarian Emergency Programs. DEC actively works in seven National Regional States and one city administration of Ethiopia, namely Amhara, Afar, Oromia, Tigray, Southwest Ethiopia, Gambela, Benishangul Gumuz, and Addis Ababa City Administration.  DEC would like to recruit for the following positions: DEC would like to recruit for the following

Job Summary

A driver's role is multifaceted, encompassing a variety of duties and responsibilities that ensure the safe and efficient transport of goods and people.

Specific role and responsibilities

• Checks the vehicle at the start of each working day for the general condition of the vehicle, checks coolants (oil, water) fuel level, tire conditions, etc., and drives the vehicle with maximum safety and care, and according to traffic regulations;

• Makes sure he/she wears seatbelts and conforms to safety rules at all times;

• Transports passengers and goods from place to place when given official instructions;

• Picks up or meets persons according to schedules and instructions;

• Treats all passengers with due respect and ensures the safety of all concerned;

• Being on standby to drive at all times when on duty and maintain focus;

• Reports accidents to supervisor promptly and complies with traffic regulations and insurance policy;

•  Carries a proper driving license with him/her at all times; renews it yearly or as required by law;

• Reports any defective parts or malfunctions; keeps and submits report on fuel consumption, mileage, car use etc., using a logbook or other formats provided for the purpose;

•  Initiates purchase requisitions of spare parts and replacement tires ensuring their quality;

• Signs and prints his/her name at the back of all fuel and other receipts presented by him/her for reimbursement;

• Performs any other related duties of a permanent or temporary nature that may be assigned to him/her.

Job Requirements

Education and Experience

• Minimum Grade 10 complete, Certificate and above and at least 5 years with clear evidence.

Additional Skil

• Good communication skills in teamwork and team mobilization
