Job Description

Roller and Excavator Operators run heavy equipment on road construction and asphalt maintenance projects. Roller Operators compact soil, base layers, and asphalt. Excavator Operators carry out excavation, loading, ditch and drainage works, and bush clearing. Both roles must work safely, follow instructions, and keep the machine in good working condition.

Job Requirement

Education: 10th grade completion and above with relevant work experience

Experience: 6-10 years

Quantity Required: 3

Location of work: Different project sites

Duties & Responsibilities:

Roller Operator

• Compact subgrade, base courses, and asphalt layers to the required density and finish

• Use the correct roller type, passes, speed, and pattern as instructed

• Work behind the paver and keep proper timing and temperature for asphalt compaction

• Avoid surface damage, roller marks, and uneven joints

Excavator Operator

• Excavate, load, and move material to the required lines, levels, and depths

• Dig ditches, drains, culvert trenches, and foundations

• Load tipper trucks safely and efficiently

• Support bush clearing, shoulder works, and clearing of drainage

• Work carefully near existing roads, utilities, and structures
