Background
Borena Zone has been severely affected by recurrent drought, leading to heightened levels of acute malnutrition, morbidity, and food insecurity. The project aims to reduce mortality and morbidity caused by malnutrition and public health emergencies, while restoring household resilience through integrated health, nutrition, WASH, and livelihood support services. The project is jointly implemented by SOS CVE and GPDI.
Evaluation Objectives
The purpose of this final evaluation is to assess the effectiveness, relevance, and impact of the intervention. Specifically:
- To determine if project outcomes related to nutrition, health, protection, and livelihoods were achieved.
- To assess project contribution to reduced acute malnutrition and improved health-seeking behavior.
- To document lessons learned and inform future program design.
Key questions include:
1. What is the current level of KAP (Knowledge, Attitude, Practice) among caregivers?
2. What is the current prevalence of wasting, underweight, and stunting?
3. What are the dietary diversity and food insecurity indicators?
4. What is the EPI (Expanded Program on Immunization) coverage and morbidity status?
5. How has project-supported capacity building improved staff knowledge and skills?
