Key Responsibilities
· Assist the Finance Manager in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards (e.g., GAAP, IFRS).
· Manage the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and reconciled.
· Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable processes, ensuring efficient cash flow management.
· Manage and reconcile bank statements and investment accounts.
· Coordinate and prepare for internal and external audits, serving as a key point of contact for auditors.
Budgeting, Forecasting, and Analysis
· Support the development of the annual operating budget and long-term financial forecasts.
· Conduct variance analysis (actual vs. budget/forecast) and provide detailed explanations and recommendations to management.
· Prepare financial models and analysis to support new projects, capital expenditures, and business initiatives.
· Monitor key financial performance indicators (KPIs) and provide regular reports on the company's financial health.
Compliance and Risk Management
· Ensure strict compliance with all local, state, and federal tax regulations and reporting requirements.
· Maintain and enforce internal financial controls and policies to safeguard company assets.
· Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
Team Leadership and Support
· Provide guidance, training, and supervision to junior finance staff.
· Step in for the finance manager during absences, overseeing all critical finance functions.
· Drive continuous improvement in finance and accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy.
Skills and Competencies
· Expert knowledge of accounting principles (GAAP or IFRS).
· Proficiency in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Microsoft Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, financial modeling).
· Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting complex financial information clearly.
· Proven ability to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work under pressure.
· High level of integrity and professional ethics.
Educational Background:
• BSc or MSc in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Relevant professional certification (ACCA, CPA, CFA) is a significant advantage.
Work Experience:
· Proven experience of 5 years or more in a finance or accounting role, with at least 2 years in a supervisory/managerial capacity.
· Mandatory experience working within the hospitality (hotel or restaurant) industry.
· In-depth knowledge of financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and general ledger functions.
· Demonstrated proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Peachtree, SAP) and MS
Excel.
· Familiarity with inventory management and Point-of-Sale (POS) systems relate to financial reconciliation and control.
· Strong analytical skills and exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
