JOB DESCRIPTION

Wegagen Capital Investment Bank is Ethiopia's pioneering investment bank, dedicated to unlocking capital market opportunities for corporate businesses, public enterprises, institutions, and individual investors. This role exists to provide a critical foundation for the Bank's financial strategy and decision-making processes. The Senior FP&A Officer/Accountant will be responsible for the comprehensive management of financial planning, analysis, and reporting. A high-level overview of the role includes developing financial models, analyzing performance, and delivering actionable insights to senior management to drive the Bank's strategic objectives and ensure financial health.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Prepare, analyze, and present the Bank's financial forecasts, annual budgets, and long-term business plans.

• Conduct in-depth financial analysis to evaluate performance against budgets and forecasts, identifying key trends, variances, risks, and opportunities.

• Provide senior management with insightful financial reports and presentations to guide strategic investment and operational decisions.

• Ensure strong knowledge and application of International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and accounting principles.

• Perform detailed financial statement analysis to assess the Bank's financial health and stability.

• Develop and maintain complex financial models to support planning and scenario analysis.

• Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and provide commentary on financial results.

• Collaborate with various departments to consolidate financial data and assumptions for accurate planning.

• Undertake other related duties as may reasonably be assigned by the supervisor or department manager.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATION

Education & Experience

• BA/MA Degree in Finance or Accounting.

• Professional accounting certification (e.g., ACCA, CFA, CPA) is a significant advantage.

• A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience, preferably in the banking or financial services industry.

Skills

• Strong knowledge of IFRS, accounting principles, and financial statement analysis.

• Excellent financial modeling and analytical skills.

• High proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial planning software.

• Strong organizational skills and detail-oriented.

• Ability to communicate complex financial information clearly and effectively.
