- Translation: Accurately translate documents, materials, and conversations between Chinese and another language (usually Amharic & English). This includes written translation (documents, reports, websites, etc.) and oral interpretation (meetings, conferences, phone calls, etc.).
- Interpretation: Provide simultaneous or consecutive interpretation during meetings, conferences, and other events, ensuring clear and accurate communication.
- Proofreading and Editing: Review translated materials for accuracy, grammar, style, and consistency.
- Cultural Understanding: Possess a strong understanding of both Chinese and the target language's cultures to facilitate effective communication.
- Research: Conduct research to clarify terminology and ensure accuracy of translations.
- Client Communication: Communicate effectively with clients to clarify project requirements and ensure satisfaction
- Education: A bachelor's degree in translation, Chinese language, or a related field is often required.
- Language Proficiency: Native or near-native fluency in Chinese, Amharic, English). Excellent written and oral communication skills in both languages are essential.
- Interpretation Skills: For interpreting roles, strong listening, comprehension, and memory skills are crucial.
