Yod Abyssinia was established in 2003 with a mission to Yod Abyssinia Cultural Restaurant, one of the pioneering and most reputable cultural restaurants in Addis Ababa that has been introducing proudly the Ethiopian hospitality through diverse cuisines, culture, dance, and music for the last 20 years that meet the need of tourists, business travelers diaspora’s. Currently Yod is engaged in Cultural restaurant, International hotel, Travel and Tour and coffee processing businesses.

Key Responsibilities

• Oversee all kitchen operations, including food preparation, cooking, and presentation to ensure taste, quality, and visual appeal. 
• Ensure that the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently.
• Lead kitchen staff, assign duties, and maintain workflow efficiency.
• Design and develop menus that reflect seasonal ingredients and customer preferences. 
• Maintain high standards of food quality and safety. 
• Regularly inspect food preparation areas and ensure compliance with health regulations. 
• Manage kitchen budgets, including food costs, labor costs, and inventory. 
• Order supplies and control waste to maximize profitability.
• Engage with guests to receive feedback on meals and address any complaints or issues. 
• Ensure a memorable dining experience for customers.

Required qualifications:

Educational Background: Diploma or degree in Culinary Arts, Hotel Management, or Food Technology.

Experience: - 10/8 years of professional kitchen experience in hotels & restaurants.

Skills: -

• Advanced culinary skills and knowledge of various cooking techniques, cuisines, and food safety regulations.
• Strong leadership and management abilities to motivate and guide kitchen staff.
• Ability to design innovative dishes and menus that appeal to customers.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with staff and guests effectively.
