Job Position: Lead –  Import and Export

Key Duties and Responsibilities

  • Plan, coordinate, and oversee all import and export activities to ensure timely and compliant movement of goods.

  • Monitor end-to-end shipment processes including documentation, customs clearance, and delivery.

  • Ensure compliance with international trade regulations, customs requirements, and internal policies.

  • Coordinate with banks for import/export-related transactions including L/C, CAD, and TT processes.

  • Manage relationships with freight forwarders, customs brokers, and logistics service providers.

  • Monitor vendor performance against agreed SLAs and KPIs.

  • Negotiate freight rates, service terms, and contract renewals with external partners.

  • Track shipments and resolve operational issues such as delays, clearance problems, or delivery disruptions.

  • Coordinate with internal stakeholders including procurement, finance, and warehouse teams.

  • Maintain import/export records and prepare operational reports for management.

  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost optimization.

  • Perform other duties as assigned by the immediate supervisor

Job Requirements

Education

  • BA Degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, or other related fields.

Minimum Experience

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant work experience in Import and Export or Supply Chain operations.

Required Skills and Competencies

  • Strong understanding of international trade regulations and customs procedures.

  • Experience in import/export documentation and banking processes.

  • Knowledge of logistics, freight forwarding, and supply chain operations.

  • Vendor management and negotiation skills.

  • Strong coordination and stakeholder management abilities.

  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple shipments under tight deadlines.

  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
