About the Role

Job Title:     Supply Chain Manager

Department:   Supply Chain

Reports to:       General Manager

Location:         Addis Ababa with periodic travel to Plant

Position Purpose

Be the go-to Supply Chain strategic partner behind the business that moves by overseeing all aspects of the supply chain operations including, procurement, inventory management, inbound and outbound logistics of raw materials and finished goods to meet KBSC’s business Objectives.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Supply Chain Planning & Operations

  • Develop and implement supply chain strategies aligned with the brewery’s production plans and business objectives.

  • Ensure uninterrupted availability of raw materials, packaging materials (bottles, crates, caps, labels), spare parts, and consumables.

  • Coordinate closely with Production, Quality, Finance, and Sales departments to align demand forecasting and supply planning.

  • Monitor and improve supply chain performance to reduce costs, lead times, and operational risks.

  1. Procurement & Contract Management

  • Ensure all procurement activities in compliance with the Procurement Policy, Delegation of Authority, Public Procurement Proclamation (where applicable), and internal procedures.

  • Prepare annual and periodic procurement plans and budgets.

  • Review and approve purchase requisitions and recommendations within delegated authority limits.

  • Ensure that all Purchase Orders (POs) and contracts above approval thresholds receive required approvals from management and the Board, as applicable.

  • Manage supplier selection, evaluation, contract negotiation, and performance monitoring.

  1. Inventory, Warehousing & Logistics

  • Oversee warehouse operations to ensure proper storage, handling, and tracking of raw materials, packaging materials, and finished goods.

  • Ensure effective crate, bottle, and returnable packaging management systems are implemented and monitored.

  • Maintain optimal inventory levels and ensure accurate inventory records. • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards in all logistics and warehousing operations.

  1. SOPs, Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure implementation and continuous improvement of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) across the supply chain.

  • Identify supply chain risks and implement mitigation measures.

  • Ensure timely and accurate documentation for procurement, delivery, and inventory transactions.

  • Support internal and external audits and implement audit recommendations. Leadership & Reporting

  • Lead, coach, and supervise supply chain staff to achieve performance targets. • Prepare and submit regular operational, financial, and compliance reports to management.

  • Ensure effective communication and coordination with senior management and external stakeholders.

Job Requirements

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain management, Logistics, Business Administration, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

  • At least ten (10) years’ hands on professional experience and countable senior management experience in a large and growing Beer/Beverage/ FMCG organization.

  • Experience of managing, motivating and developing a multi-disciplinary workforce and harnessing the talents of employees at all levels.

  • Experience of working in co-operation and partnership with a wide range of internal and external bodies including statutory agencies/organizations.

  • Experience of having successfully managed substantial budgets through rigorous control procedures, as well as delivering budget options.

  • Experience of establishing and implementing business planning processes and performance management systems to ensure appropriate and cost-effective service delivery.

  • Ability to communicate effectively, negotiate and network through highly developed written, oral and presentation skills.

  • Ability to develop innovative solutions whilst maintaining continuity of services through setting of clear goals/targets.

  • Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented mindset and a focus on driving solutions and operational excellence.
